The action takes place around a dinner table and can be performed in almost any space - no technical facilities are needed. Dinner for One provides a classic boutique entertainment for almost any occasion, ideal for festivals, corporate events and public or private celebrations. Suitable for all ages, its short length and timeless comedy allows it to fit very well into most event programmes. The show lasts 15 mins. Dinner for One Company
Directed by David Lavender (Komedia/Aurora Nova) and starring Chris Cresswell (Ra Ra Zoo, Voodoo Vaudeville,) and Miriam King ( international performance artist)
The company was formed to produce and perform Dinner for One initially and intends in the future to seek out and present relatively unknown comedy gems with a physical comedy edge.
David Lavender - Director
David is co-founder and artistic director of Komedia and co-founder of Aurora Nova. He has been writing acting and directing in theatre since the 1970’s.
Chris comes from a vaudeville and cabaret background, gaining his equity card on the alternative cabaret circuit with Skint Video. In the 90’s he toured with international circus theatre co Ra Ra Zoo and for the past 10 years he has been artistic director of Voodoo Vaudeville. He has also made appearances in commercials all over Europe and recently featured in Tim Burtons’ Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Mim is an independent Choreographer, Dancer and Live Artist. After graduating with a BA (Hons.) Degree in Fine Art and Theatre, she commenced her professional performance career in 1984. This moved from theatre through to dance, and in more recent years, live art and film. In the last decade many of her unique performance works, projects and choreographies have received financial support from her Regional Arts Board, South East Arts.
